Multi-project-based contract to redesign legacy components and style library, create newly updated assets, responsive webpages, and user experiences as the first Lead Strategic Designer on the first in-house design team at CenterPoint Energy.
As the Lead Strategic UX designer, I have played a significant and pivotal role in ideating and creating the design strategy and Service Design at CNP. As part of the first in-house team, I have been instrumental in developing CNP's first design process. My role centers around clear and exceptional communication across teams, users, and stakeholders to build our design framework from scratch. Along with clinical problem-solving, beautiful visual design, excellent cross-team collaboration, and a sharp ability to identify areas of improvement within new or existing designs, my focus is on creating a seamless user experience. Some key takeaways from my work so far are:
- I played a vital role in accelerating the deployment of a $40B+ capital plan through the early adoption of a new design team and the creation of transformative designs.
- I conducted extensive research by speaking with users throughout Houston and employing clear and concise research methods to pinpoint their pain points. Based on these insights, I created detailed processes to solve their problems.
- I collaborated with BCG and Credera to ideate, create, and deliver some of CNP's most significant design projects to date.
- I played a crucial role in executing a $10B capital plan. Through design improvements made to a key web-based hub, I helped create a 3% O&M efficiency.
Below are some examples of CenterPoint's Crewpoint project of which I played a spearhead role in the UX and UI design for this responsive web hub application. As a strategic UX designer I was involved from 0-1 of these projects, and then further into the future lifeline of this product and some of the business strategies to follow after its initial completion to keep track of the target capital plan and increase O&M efficiency company wide.
